Responsibilities:
Overall Purpose of Job: SDE, Supplier Development Engineer is part of SDE Department. The Prime role of SDE is responsible for Monitor supplier¡¯s performance based on Measurement of Performance. Major Responsibilities: - Monitor supplier¡¯s performance based on Measurement of Performance (PPM, Delivery & Concerns). - Conduct Business Management Reviews with suppliers (Supplier presentations, monitor actions, Close BMR). - Report Decision ¨C to re-source or return to normal. - Support & liaise with Plant Quality Functions (MOPs). - Use VIN for control of Measurement MOPs. - Conduct Top Focus Part & Process Audit. - Monitor Top Focus report decision, re-source or return to normal. - Conduct GSQM training to plants / suppliers. - Understand and liaise with local plants / suppliers requirements of Strategic Global Purchasing. - Conduct Supplier Profile evaluations on new / existing suppliers. - Organize and conduct Part & Process Audits. - Monitor third Party Registration Certification. (ISO9000, QS9000, ISO/TS 16949). - Request Certification plans from suppliers. - Support Plant SQE on periodic P & P Audits. - Organize and conduct Potential P & P Audits. - Support and liaise with relevant team (North America / Europe). - Conduct GSQM training with new suppliers. - Implement workshops / train suppliers in Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, etc. - Monitor and assure timings of PPAP. - Schedule / manage PPAP, APQP meetings. - Follow up and close all open issues regarding PPAP, APQP. - Conduct Run @ Rate for suppliers capacity. - Implement feasibility studies at suppliers. - Arrange meetings, relevant personnel, plant and suppliers. - Conduct review using Tables 1 & 2 (checklist). - Create action plans, distribute / follow up and close. - Support review of completed PPAP. - Use GDPIM to control and monitor project phases. - Support an active Supplier Concern Management. - Review supplier 8D response. - Manage meetings with problematic suppliers, and follow up. - Coordinate with Central Purchasing for consistent problem suppliers. - Conduct quality management review meetings with specific suppliers and verify correct actions. - Review the suppliers critical processes, assure critical items / characteristics will be detected during plant in-process quality review (visual / poke yoke). - Communicate events, problems and reports to partners in plants.
Requirements:
Key Competencies: - Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or its equivalent. - Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial environment, preferably in quality control / systems. - Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9002 and QS 9000. - Familiar with Quality Management tools such as APQP, PPAP, Problem Analysis Tools, etc. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Experience in dealing with suppliers. Education and Experience: - Educational:Bachelor degree within Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering. - Experience:Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial environment, preferably in quality control / systems. - Attributes:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
