Responsibilities:
- Participate in the project design and planning process with representatives from Akzo Nobel, the local design institute and the nominated engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) company. - Manage chemical process installation, including selection of appropriate contractors, communication of technical and quality requirements, evaluation of design, inspection of work, testing and commissioning, etc. - Represent Akzo Nobel throughout the contractor tender and selection process for the activities covered by the nominated EPCM company’s scope of work. - Serve as Akzo Nobel’s on-site project representative, supervising site work and communicating important issues regarding construction, schedule, quality, and budget to the project team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or above in chemical or mechanical engineering. - Minimum of 7 years experience managing chemical manufacturing projects. Greater level of experience preferred. - Understanding of local fire and building codes. - Ability to develop, read, and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams. - Good written and verbal English skills, especially with regards to communicating and understanding technical/engineering topics. - Proficient in using AutoCAD for developing and editing engineering drawings. - Good PC skills – Microsoft Word and Excel.
