Job     Job Title: Purchasing Mgr Location(s): Shanghai Number: 1 Company: American Company Responsibilities: Summary of responsibilities: This job will be based in our plant and office in Shanghai Jin Qiao Area, reporting to the Supply Chain Senior Manager. This job will cover the purchasing of production related raw materials and non production related materials and work closely with the other functions like R&D, Production, Customer Demand and Logistics. This job will direct and lead the implementation of strategies for efficient and cost effective materials flow to deliver the maximum advantage to internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities will include: - Lead and direct purchasing team in identifying, communicating and implementing purchasing strategies and best management practices. - Plan and implement activities related to the timely and cost effective procurement, inventory control, purchasing planning and quality control of production related raw materials as well as non production related materials. - Develop, implement and maintain purchasing related policies, procedures, material control systems and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions. - Establish successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at optimum levels. - Work with the global and regional purchasing management teams on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk analysis and capacity management. - Coordinate with Finance Department on matters of payment terms and currency strategy. - Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions on people recruitment, management, development and evaluation to ensure efficient daily operation and the qualified and motivated workforce. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, the candidate shall have the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below: - Bachelor degree or above in chemical related majors. - 5+ years experience in purchasing management, preferably in coatings industry. - Sound market knowledge and experience in imported and local chemical materials. - Fluency in English and Mandarin. - Good track record on personal integrity. - Good interpersonal and communication skills, and good teamwork spirit. - Good leadership skills and people management capabilities. - Strategic purchasing perspective and good insight into purchasing opportunities.
